Let’s Talk About Skin

I’m 42 and I love my skin.

If you would have asked me if I loved it 5 years ago I would have said no, but today I would tell you yes. Here’s why.

I have learned to love my skin and have come to realize that wrinkle free perfection isn’t my goal.

Last year I decided to try Jeveau, a skin injection that is similar to botox, to help with the 11s between by eyes. I didn’t love the results; I didn’t feel like myself, my eyes felt heavy & I ended up breaking out in the area of the injection over the next several weeks.

I tried it, got it out of my system and realized that injections aren’t for me.

Since then I have decided to ramp up my skincare routine and invest in facials every 6 weeks. I want to share with you what I love and what I have found that works.

Medical Grade Skincare

This is by far one of the biggest investments that I’ve made that has given me the best results. I started using Revision Skincare a few years ago and haven’t every looked back.

My must haves:

Day and Night Cream: The DEJ Cream

Day and Night Eye Cream: DEJ Eye Cream

I’ve tried several of their other products and have loved them all but these are my must haves. The DEJ eye cream can be used under the eye AND on the eyelid which is a game changer if you have dry, crepey eye lids (rising my hand on this one).

The NuFace Mini Device

If you’ve ever wondered if the NuFace devices work, I would tell you yes. I’ve been using this daily for about 5 years and when I use it I can see a lift in my brows and cheekbones. This is an electronic current device and you need a barrier of some sort to keep the device from zapping you- I have used water as a barrier and that works great, aloe vera is also a good barrier option.

Microneedling

I had three sessions of microneedling this past year; the immediate results were good and I can tell a difference in my skin. The aesthetician who did my procedure told me that I might not need any more sessions and I think she was right, maybe I’ll go in once a year to try and stimulate collagen but I don’t see a need for multiple sessions again.

Diamond Glow Facials

This is a splurge that is well worth the price. I have no down time when I have this procedure done and the results are immediate & noticeable. The aesthetician uses a pen like device to exfoliate the skin and apply a serum to the skin. My wrinkles fade immediately thanks to this procedure.

Skincare is such a personal thing, there’s no one size fits all formula. I’m trying out a red light therapy mask and will share more on that once I’ve used it for a while. I want to share with you my finds and favs in hopes of these things helping you to love your skin too.
